Privacy Policy

1. General provisions

This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") applies to all information that the HoMM Hub website, located at homm-hub.com (the "Site"), may obtain about a user while they use the Site.

The Policy is drafted in accordance with Federal Law No. 152-FZ "On Personal Data" of 27.07.2006 (the "152-FZ Law") and other applicable personal-data legislation of the Russian Federation.

By using the Site and providing their personal data, the user expresses their consent to the terms of this Policy.

2. Personal data controller

Personal data is processed by the owner of the Site homm-hub.com (the "Operator").

3. Personal data processed by the Operator

Depending on which features of the Site the user uses, the Operator may process:

  • Data provided at registration: name, email address, password (stored in an irreversibly hashed form), username.
  • Profile data (provided at the user's discretion): avatar, links to social-media accounts, details for voluntary donations, contact details for reaching the Site's administration.
  • Data created while using the Site: comments and images attached to them; map-completion marks, ratings, reviews and screenshots in the download history; maps, articles and materials uploaded by the user (for users with the relevant roles).
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, cookie data — see the Cookie Policy for details.
  • Anonymized web-analytics data — collected by the Yandex.Metrica service, see Section 7.

The Operator does not request or process special categories of personal data (racial or ethnic origin, political views, health status, etc.).

4. Purposes of processing personal data

  • registering the user and granting access to the Site's features (account area, map uploads, download history, comments, the map-translation tool);
  • identifying and authenticating the user;
  • communicating with the user, including notifications and replies to inquiries;
  • moderating user-generated content;
  • ensuring the Site's operability and security, and improving the Site;
  • statistical analysis of traffic and user behavior (anonymized, via Yandex.Metrica).

5. Legal grounds for processing

Personal data is processed on the basis of the user's consent (Art. 6(1)(1) of the 152-FZ Law), given upon registration on the Site and/or when using Site features that require personal data.

The user has the right to withdraw their consent to personal data processing at any time by sending a notice to info@homm-hub.com. Withdrawing consent may make certain Site features unavailable or result in account deletion.

6. Processing and transfer of personal data

The Operator does not transfer users' personal data to third parties, sell it, exchange it, or otherwise disclose it, except as expressly provided for by this Policy or required by Russian law.

To operate the Site, the Operator uses the following technical processors:

  • a hosting provider that physically hosts the Site's servers;
  • the Yandex.Metrica web-analytics service (Yandex LLC) — to the extent and under the conditions described in Section 7.

Cross-border transfer of personal data: the servers hosting the Site and processing personal data are currently physically located outside the Russian Federation. The Operator is working on relocating the servers responsible for the initial collection and storage of Russian citizens' personal data to the territory of the Russian Federation, in accordance with Art. 18(5) of the 152-FZ Law.

7. Cookies and web analytics

The Site uses cookies and the Yandex.Metrica web-analytics service, including the Webvisor feature, which records visitor actions on the Site's pages (navigation, scrolling, clicks) in an anonymized form. Details — in the Cookie Policy.

8. Data processing and retention periods

Personal data is processed and stored for as long as the user's account exists on the Site. After an account is deleted, personal data is deleted or anonymized within 30 days, except where longer retention is required by Russian law. Server technical logs are kept for no more than 90 days.

9. Rights of the data subject

The user has the right to:

  • obtain information regarding the processing of their personal data;
  • request the correction, blocking or destruction of personal data if it is incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, unlawfully obtained, or not necessary for the stated purpose of processing;
  • withdraw their consent to personal data processing;
  • independently edit part of their data in the account area (avatar, social links, donation details, contact info) or delete individual materials (e.g. comments — where they hold the relevant rights);
  • file a complaint with Roskomnadzor if they believe their rights were violated during personal data processing.

10. Personal data protection measures

The Operator takes the necessary organizational and technical measures to protect personal data from unlawful or accidental access, destruction, alteration, blocking, copying, distribution and other unlawful actions by third parties, including: storing passwords in hashed form, using a secure connection (HTTPS/SSL), and restricting access to users' personal data within the Site's admin panel.

11. Changes to the Policy

The Operator has the right to amend this Policy. A new version takes effect once it is published on the Site, unless the new version states otherwise. The current version is always available at homm-hub.com/privacy.
